Wood countertops, butcher blocks and table tops are manufactured by our mills in a very large variety of woods.

  • the most popular wood for kitchen tops continues to be maple which comes in a regular and rustic grain
  • dozens of specialty woods as seen in our door program. Raincoast can consider any kind of wood your client requires, however hardwoods are suggested.
  • all tops are built to precision sizes including custom thicknesses, miter cuts are available for right angle designs.
  • typical butcher block style joinery is 7/8'' continuous wood strip laminations without butt or finger joints  
  • table top style available in random board widths and a variety of thickness options
  • includes hand selected grain and colour and final product is always hand sanded.
  • Butcher blocks raw ready for your finish or with food safe oil applied
  • Clear lacquer or stains may be applied to highlight the beautiful wood of your top
  • contrasting solid wood inlays are available 
  • also table surfaces in specialty wood veneers in which custom patterned inlays are possible.

  •   Richlite® FSC™  is made of layers of paper and phenolic resin. It is heated and compressed to become a solid slab material.
  •   It comes in seven colors with names that reflect natural and historic landmarks near the manufacturing facility in Tacoma, Washington.
  •   Additionally, Richlite’s recycled series includes r50 and r100, names which reflect their percentage of recycled content.
  •   All Richlite materials are made either with FSC-Certifed or postconsumer recycled paper to minimize the company’s environmental impact. In addition, Richlite products are GREENGUARD  certified for indoor use in residential, school and institutional environments and con tribute to LEED points.
  •   The surfaces are produced using an innovative and efficient WE™ (Waste-to-Energy) manufacturing system that captures toxins and re-circulates heat to greatly minimize fuel consumption, pollution and  carbon emissions.
  •   Designers often specify Richlite for the inherent strength that enables the surface to accomodate long spans and cantilevers without extra support, as well as for it'd beautiful looks for high end residental or commercial countertops and reception areas. It has natural colours and a matte finish that complements a variety of styles.
